Have measurements written down at home. I will endeavor to post them upon return from vacation (1 week).

Yeah, I had the same reaction too when I measured them but still elected to install the unit. Like I said, it was only "slightly" smaller than OEM inlet/outlet. Guessing on my memory...... .1175" difference which is a tad less than 1/8".

Here's measurements/specs on Alta's intercooler

70ºF
Ambient Temperature
Temp in 280ºF
Temp Out 105ºF
Intercooler Efficiency 83% (OEM= 53%)
Pressure Drop ALTA 1.5psi vs OEM 2.0psi
OEM Core Size 21.3" x 3.25" x 2.5"
ALTA Core Size 23" x 8.76" x 1.75" (215% bigger)

so the ebay one I posted is thicker but otherwise a little smaller than Alta's.

So I was thinking of a cheap alternative intercooler. Almost bought a Mishimoto 23 X 6.5 X 2.5 from Pepboys. If it's in store, they can reduce price. Sticker was $165, guy could for certain get it lowered to $140 before talking to manager.

Problem is getting the right fittings and making side holes work when ours are rear (no homo).

I figure getting a piping kit would be about the same cost of the intercooler but still, $300-$350 is worth it.

I did notice my track times at the local 1/8 stayed much more consistent, not getting heat soaked. Times never fell off were they did stock. But I'd say the upgrade is very minimal if any, day temp could've made te difference. Only reason I have one is I told my fiancé I want an intercooler for my birthday, lol she didn't know better =\
yea she did😂😂😂 got your *** the cheap ****! 🤣🤣🤣 I'll be pissed! Like look here gurl tighten up!*

I will use the Accessport Tuner to collect some real time data. I will log IAT Temps, Oil Temp, Coolant Temp, and Ambient Temp. I don't think we need any other data than this, but if someone can think of something else, let me know. I will keep you all posted.

Cheers
where is the data? Thinking on getting one... sometimes we pay for name brand price when we can pay less and get the same results. And I think our intercooler upgrades on our mini fits the category. Like wtf forge ic is like 600 and Wagner like 500 wtf!? But cts has one for 380 or so but it looks identical to the one on ebay though.

I have EBAY FMIC running on my wife's 09 MCS for a year so far, no issues and IAT is pretty consistent. I check the temperature every now and then with some WOT runs.

I bought an Ebay fmic from a USA seller. Cheapest one on there shipped to my door in Canada. I will be modding it though. Pretty much everything I do is modded. I'm installing a 2.25 inch charge pipe system so I need to cut off the 2" and weld on 2.25" connection.
