Drivetrain Can any one explain the difference between the rmw header?
The V band is a type of flage that will not require a gasket. They seldom leak and only use one bolt to hold the flange together. I have one and I love it.
However, if you buy a v band you will need the factory two bolt flange off the stock or whatever exhaust you have. and have the new half of the v band attached.
the shorty header is a header that is a bolt in replacment for the stock header.
It comes with a cat, Unless you ask for it without.
You can also order it with a V band or the two bolt flange. up to you.
I hate two bolt flanges, I got tired of blowing the gaskets out.

well it is pretty obvious once you see one. A v-band is a circular flange that when mated makes a V shape in a side profile view. A ring with the same angle V shape goes around these two mated surfaces, and as the perimeter of the ring is shortened by tightening the bolt it compresses the two mating surfaces together, theoretically with even pressure around the whole joint, which allows for metal-to-metal mating surface without the use of a gasket.
All stock mini's come with a simple two bolt flange which has pressure varriations along the edge of the seal, often leading to gasket blow out in the areas with less pressure due to excess engine vibration, high operating temperatures/pressures or over/under-tightening leading to degradation of gasket integrity.
For simplicity here is a picture of a V-band

Not all v-bands actually have a male and female side to them, but most of the good ones will. The male end will typically go on the engine side.
and for reference, this is what one looks like installed on a vahicle

Hope this helps!
you will quickly learn when/if you get into building and custom work that there are several mating options available on the market with varying usefulness as well as price. But as with everything solid designs with easy use hold a premium.
(e/g wiggins clamps for intake vs using ring bands and silicon hoses)
