Drivetrain changing map sensors
changing map sensors
Changing map sensors. So, after 180k figured I should just do this. Car runs fine except for a little stumble when warming up and the occasional stumble at idle (mine always did this after that software change for the evap stuff).
My current mods are: shrick cam, 380s, jcw intake, rmw tune, and a 15% pulley. Car did (at the time of the pull minus the cam) 189whp.
Now for the real question, I see that ECS lists aftermarket sensors along with OEM ones. The brand name is VEMO and they are a touch more expensive than the OEM ones. Any difference here? Anybody change out to these?

The VEMO ones are just another brand we carry in our many lines.
Have you thrown any codes or items that related to the Map sensor?
There is one on the intake manifold and one by the thermostat housing ( Cooper S )

Thanks and let me know if you need anything. 180k miles, that's great, what year is your Cooper S?

Thanks for the quick response. It is a 2004
No codes. There is a noticeable difference in performance right after an ECU reset. I forgot to mention that. It seems that the adaption is a little goofy (maybe just on mine?) at times. My car doesn't like chevron for some reason as well. Always runs better on the cheaper gas (less detergents I suspect).
So, I was thinking maybe one of the MAP sensors was a little tired. BTW, the O2 sensors were changed around 100k.
