Drivetrain Uprated Spark Plugs or Plasma Coils
Kinda typical failure mode of an older, aged, heat damaged coil....
The question is, would NEW OEM coils have solved the problem...
Just like with sparkplug reviews...an old worn out component is replaced with new item....things get better....so we know the old coils WERE an issue...but do the new $$$$ coils work any better NEW OEM coils would have?
I am glad the purchase worked out for you!

Old? Maybe, but I've owned the car since new, installed the supercharger at 45,000 miles, so i really doubt the coils were faulty. they just didn't have the *** to fire a spark consistently. The coils were fine for what they are, but the okada coils simply work better. And yes, new coils had the same issue.
Oh, but this in no way is any sort of claim for a MCS, or JCW.
I bet for a 3MPG increase ANY OEM would install them on their cars from the factory....both to meat fleet EPA/EURO CO2 emissions rules, but also for the sales advantage.....
Simply put they have not...so I 100$ they tested the product vs good OEM coils, and it did not get a gain!!

Purple line without the plasma coils. Green and Pink with the plasma coils. Coils swapped over whist car on the dyno and runs carried out before and after within a few minutes. The car did make 290 BHP (previously on this thread) but I can't seem to find it in the dyno. Ignore the loss of power in the lower revs with the pink line - this is just me releasing the car too early.
