Who else thinks Alta should make a red powder coated I/c?? I know I do!

 

Meh you can powder coat it yourself if you want.

 

I can't even see my black one through the JCW aero front bumper :/

 

IzzyG, why did you choose the Alta I/C vs. Helix or Forge? I'm driving myself nuts trying to decide. All 3 have things I like, and dislike.

How was the install with the Alta?

 

I chose Alta's because I wanted it black. Yes, I could powdercoat BUT I didn't want to spend another $50 to powdercoat. Only problem is that I didn't check whether to see if I could even see it through the JCW aero front bumper(which you can't by the way) so the color is moot :( Oh that and I had a killer deal on it(paid like $600) because of compounding discount codes :X I'd probably would have gotten a Helix if I didn't miss the GB.

By the way, the modifications needed for Alta's I/C isn't that big of a deal. Performance wise, I think they're all the same.

Call up Alta, see if they will make one for you. They sell some of their other products in red. I have also seen pics of guys that leave the lower grille to show off their IC.

I've got a used Alta intercooler for R56 that you could paint or powdercoat. I would paint it with a rattle can as that would be thinner and be better for heat transfer.

 

We have mini's not ricers. That being said if you were to paint it make sure you send it out to the right people who will coat it in a product that can make it more efficient.
