Drivetrain Exhaust help - rattling and shaking!!!
Hey,
I installed my Milltek last week and love the sound and power. However, after a couple of hours i noticed the serious rattling. I mean the entire exhaust is shaking from the cat-back. I don't know what this could be. I have the Milltek 3-piece slip-fit exhaust. The rattling stops if i give it a little throttle. But at idle, hard-core shaking and rattling!
Thanks for any help

I just installed my borla race exhaust last week and had the same problem with the shaking. I crawled underneath the car while it was running and I noticed it was hitting the heat shield. I just gave it a little tug and it fixed the rattle.
ABT- While your exhuast is cool, swing the rear section up/down side to side
with your hands to see if it is hitting anything. check rear bumper clearance
as well.
Next, check to see if your heat sheild is hitting by the rear flange area
where you used your bolts/nuts to join the rear section. My heat shield
was hitting that area completely...just bend it upward.
Also, did you re-torque your sleeve clamp nut after your test drive?
It is better to torque it down again while the pipe is hot. They say
35ft/lbs of torque, but I just took a box wrench and torqued it down
pretty snug.
Finally, make sure your rear pipe has at least one inch clearance from
the battery tray as the exhaust expands quite a bit while hot.
Hope this helps..
