Drivetrain Intercooler upgrade
A lot has been tossed around about IC upgrades with respect to benefits, efficiency, cost, etc. I'd like to ask the cognoscenti out there in NAM-land for their input on the current thinking about IC upgrades. BTW, my car is used primarily on the street, with some spirited canyon runs, and occasional outings on the track. Thanks...
What specifically would you like to know? I've had my Alta TMIC for a couple of weeks now and am pretty satisfied with it in terms of underhood aestetic improvement...though the performance gains are hard to measure on a dyno. I believe experts like Randy Webb when he states that it adds up to another 9hp.

Thanks for the post and comments about your new Alta IC. In response to your question above, what I'm interested in is hearing from those with experience/knowledge about "benefits, efficiency, cost" [my original post] of the various IC designs and products that are available. How about some feedback from others who have gone the IC route?

Call Eric at Helix13 about the RDR intercooler- it is still in the works. Price should be less than $1000.
Call Randy at Webbmotorsports about any new IC he might have. He does sell an air to air and water to air IC. Generally at slower speeds and street use the water to air is more efficient while at higher speeds and on the track the air to air works well. More maintenance with the water to air version every 3 years or so for the cooling system and a little more labor to install the water to air IC. Prices still above $1000.
Here is a new IC from Randy

"Front Mount Intercooler - 150F drops across the unit, with less than 1psi drop in pressure! $2200"

I think for the streets on a relatively stock motor, you should just leave it
alone unless for looks....or add a water spray kit at best. Some people like
to add cry02 kits or nitrous spray bars, but not really necessary unless you
street race from a stop. Once the car is in motion the stock IC seems to be
quite efficient.
