As I mentioned in some posts I changed the steering wheel in the "Mule" from the drab stock unit to
a MOMO Race SW. Big improvement in feel and looks....

Man, that steering wheel is BAD.

And in the words of Huey Lewis of Huey Lewis and the News, "Sometimes Bad is Bad".

Peter,

Man, pretty soon, that won't be a Mini anymore. The M7 surgeon has spliced and diced this baby.

I like Momo steering wheels, but not that one in particular. Although I agree that the difference is probalby pretty good.

Why crazy....Just because you don't like it, or that a smaller racing steerring wheel isn't harmonious with the MINI design.
Or that the safety of the exploding bag is removed, or.......

For someone who is obviously a serious racer, this mod makes sense. It probably doesn't matter what the car looks like style-wise.....just so the job gets done. I can understand that. Tear 'em up!!!!!!!

Not the air vent, the hole where the power/data cable goes from the equipment on the dash.

Mjolnir, i fail to see where he ever asked for anyone's opinions on look. I think he was just sharing pictures of a possible performance steering wheel for those who are interested

Nice wheel, I used to have a Momo Monte Carlo in my GTI 16V - they make some great steering wheels.

Too bad STACK doesn't make the tach in the right range for a MINI, looks nice anyway.

Yes they do, I just happened to have this unit laying around from another project with a 10K rev limit.

RTFP: "big improvement in feel and looks."

I was replying to the other post that said it didn't look too good.

Hey Peter,

Can you tell us which hub you used to put Momo on? I know there is one for the Mini out in Japan but very expensive. ($250 but there is an airbag light cancelation feature built in). You must have modified one for another car.

A little off topic, but I use a Sparco Flash 330mm on my WRX
and a Daikei boss (hub adapter) made in Japan. It comes
with the SRS trick resistor and horn wiring..everything is
plug and play.

I think the flash 350 would look very nice on my MCS... will
need to do that later on when my warranty is gone and
while I swap out the seats.
