Chop 2 stock IC's to make a GP IC?
so, ive been thinking...
since people sell their stock ICs for anywhere from $30 to $100, would it be possible / plausible to purchase 2 stock IC's and have them cut and welded together to make a GP style intercooler? or one that is, perhaps even slightly bigger?! (add 3 rows instead of 2)?
seems like, a decent shop with a skilled aluminum welder could do this... i mean, it looks like thats what the Factory did anyway!
Thoughts?!
id love to buy a GP IC, but $400 is a steep price to pay...

If you go this route, you're probably better off going to a radiator specialist and having them fab a new radiator/intercooler, then just weld on the ends to connect to the intake horns. I had a company tell me they would do just that when I went to the EAA Airshow in Oshkosh back in 2010.
