Tuning?

I am seriously considering a Mini for my next purchase and had some questions. I've been searching forums and can't really find a definitive answer. Do you need a tune if you add an intake and exhaust (Catback or turboback)? I am coming from a 2010 WRX with a very sensitive ECU that would need retuning with practically anything modded. Thanks in advance!
