raising the boost

Whats up!
So i'm pretty new to the N18 engine. What are some ways you guys are raising the boost? Is the acces-port or a tune the only way? Just curious.
Thanks!

soooo... What same question.. but for the N-14 JCW...
I'm guessing tuning is the real way to go.
Not as easy as a smaller pully like the R53

Jan's tune well net you around 255hp and 275torq. Best bang for the buck in my opinion.

Yeah that does seem like the best bang for the buck...I was planning on that anyway but I think I'll skip all the bolt-ons and just get the tune and a down pipe.

I have a JCW with thouse internals.

I skipped the bolts ons an just did a catless down pipe and high flow filter in stock box.

After tune water/meth would be the next envestment.

I shall do the same... Seems like the smartest most effective route.

Do what ever you want, but until you replace the really small, inadequate, puny, intercooler it really doesn't matter how much power you make with a tune. After the first hard pull, your intake temps will get so high that the ECU will start pulling timing and will cut power. (heat soak)

No an intercooler doesn't make any power, but it sure allows you to make more power longer.

Water/meth is the way to go.

it really depends if your going to track it or not. on the street though, i never had any problems with stock. after i changed i didn't notcie any more power or power for longer. this is on the street though. i never tracked it.

I guess it depends on what you mean by street? I'm talking about country back roads. If you mean like stuck on the I405 or something, that's another matter.

yeah im talking about traffic lights, in gear runs and back road runs for about 30min max.
since your getting a tune its worth it for safety alone.
