Drivetrain Nm engineering tune
So today I helped a fellow member install her Helix FMIC. She was running a NM tune, which I have the AP. I wanted to see the difference and imho, I'd stick with my AP. The NM feels great, no doubt about it, but boost feels smacked in your face compared to how my AP feels, which delivers a linear, almost NA engine type of power delivery.
Whereas the NM feels like it cuts outta boost up top, the AP will keep building all the way up to redline. Just my observation in the quick drive in her R56.

Yeah I don't know what could be your R56's problem. Have you driven with the SB on lately? You should drive it around with it on so you can be sure that it isn't the cause of your codes.
Funny, I haven't drivin with the sport button on. The car is pretty fast without it but I will drive around today with it on to see what happens.
Congrats on the tune automan21, I believe you are one of the few who have tuned their car with the N18
Hope you got that check engine light all sorted out and it doesn't come back!
That is pretty crazy, I have the sprint booster for my CVT R50 and race mode(red light) takes some getting use to. Now to have the car tuned,
its an 'S', plus the sport button, and the sprint booster on top of that...thing must be nuts
Don't think I could take the SBv2 on my S.......but I have considered it???

Let us know what you think. I like the tune a lot.
I visited NM today on my way back home from a meeting in Ventura. The guys there are so nice... They listed to the issues I was having and updated my files accordingly. Hurray... More driving will see if the update fixed the issue
Man I need my car tuned lol
Yeah, the 2.0 Turbo R-spec. He's putting down about 230-240 to the wheels.
Did they specify what it was, or what they were finding?

Have you had the car dynoed with the tune?
I know NM says what the whp/wft-lb will be, but I'd be curious to see if what
they claim is under or over rated....possibly even on the money??
I haven't yet. I'll probably wait for a dyno day through one of the forums i regularly post on. Last i dynoed at 170hp/200tq with all my mods minus the tune.
I know a FMIC allows you to go stage 2 with NM.
Anyways, i'm a bit hesitant in going with fmic next. Or i was. I was going to do a BBK kit next, however, I just had a front and rear brake job done at mini under the 100k maintenance plan, so i might just wait a bit on the bbk kit. I really really want to get some PSS10's, but i'm not sure if my friends dad can still get them at cost for me.
An FMIC won't give power, but it helps maintain it when boosting often...or just in high heat areas...like the IE lately lol.
I noticed it working when I rev-match downshift for the first time it was install in 100 degree temps. With the stock intercooler, rev matching was tough because the throttle input was extremely sluggish due to all the heat(tach needle barely moved with a blip of the throttle). When I installed the Forge unit, I could feel the difference and see it with the scangauge. I run the NM intake and with 100 degree temps I'm seeing 103/104 intake temps.....yes this is with an open intake that everyone seems be hating on lol, I'm having no issues with it. I think an intercooler would be a great investment to keep the car happy in hot weather. Just my observations ::smile::

has anyone ever inquired about a dyno tune at NM? not sure if they even have a dyno up there, but since they seem to be one of the more responsive tuners, and people have had success with their tunes, i wonder if a dyno tune would be very far off. i'd pay a few extra bones for a dyno tune, if available.
