IE cat-back remove resonator

I know there are a couple of threads on here about the IE cat back. Of anyone who has had is on their mini has anyone removed the resonator up under the mid-section?

I ask this because I have the craven short shifter kit and the resonator is directly under my shifter. I get some unwanted heat there now. So has anyone ever removed it?

Did it make the exhaust unbearable? The actual muffler will still be in the back. From what I have read it is a flowmaster.

I have the IE exhaust and I can say that I am on my second resonator in one year of having the system. In their defense revving to 7800 on occasion is by no means healthy for them.
