Drivetrain upgrades for auto?
upgrades for auto?
hello, got my 07' S few weeks ago, planned for a project car originally but lease was gone and i needed a reliable car asap and the cooper was the best thing on the lot for me. figured i'd get a project later.
really starting to like that car, so much were i find my self wanting to work on it and make this my "project".
working the night shift at work im up at night and since i got the Cooper i find myself doing some canyon runs while everyone is soundly asleep on my nights off. im really blown by how the car handles itself, the only complaint as its no a manual the is shifting its too slow and sloppy (in Sport as well at times). i was looking at ECU upgrade and found "Sprint Booster" seems like a good start (any input on it is appreciated).
but i was also thinking Sequential upgrades and found interest in a hydraulic shifting system. would be nice to upgrade to a nice wheel and if possible reprogram the shifters to left - Right + instead of the push downshift system.
has anyone attempted this kind of mod? or can point me to the right direction?

If you want a better shift feel sell the car and buy and MINI with a manual transmission. I've driven a couple auto R56's and they just can't match the excitement of a manual.
For your daily driver, get yourself a used domestic car. The joke is really on everyone else since you're driving a car that's paid for and it gets you where you need to be. They are cheap to fix too.
