So Far not impressed by Forge :(

I got home today and my front mount had come in from Forge, so of course i rushed into the garage and opened it up to take a look and not happy at all with the first sight. As i open the package and take of the packing the first thing i see is dents all over and an overall cheap look. Then when i flip it over to the other side i see more dents and more inferior quality. Has anyone else had this experience? I got a great deal on the intercooler and it was shipper directly from Forge so i know it’s not fake, but this is kind of ridiculous, take a look ...

Man that sucks. It may be why it was a "great deal"? Whoever sold it to you may have been getting a discount on factory seconds, but they should have said so. If the price was right and it is seals, the loss of performance should be negligible. It still blows though.

I wouldn't accept that condition as 'new'. I think you have grounds for return/replacement on their dime for the shipping. NAM Vendor?

I emailed them right away and sent them pictures, even the welds look cheap, i purchased it from http://swiftmotorsports.com/index.ph...oducts_id=2072, i partialy blame them but most of the fault is on Forge, i mean how could you send something like that out to a customer i need to get a betterpick of the poor welds its like they hand sanded then after i dont know ...

Looks like it never got finished. I wonder if it somehow made it past finishing and never was completed?? Sure looks bad to me. Ouch.

I still have heard nothing back from swift performance so after a few calls and emails I know who not to do business with in the future, on the other hand Forge as been more than understanding and the new intercooler has already been shipped out, its suppose to arrive on Monday! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that everything is ok. but the customer service is great from forge and I will defiantly consider doing business with them again.

I've got one sitting here waiting for me to install and it's of very nice quality. None of the dings and dents, etc like on the posted one.
I'd have to send it back. Sometimes a good deal turns out to be a bad one.

Forge replaced the intercooler and also sent me a keychain and hat! The customer service is great! And i would defiantly recommend forge to anyone that needs an intercooler! the new one went in today and wasn’t as bad as i thought it would be took a few hours by myself and no experience not to bad, i changed my tune to the stage 3 with my access port and the car rips! i love it can wait to get it on the track soon!

Glad to hear that everything worked out and that you are one happy man now!

So did Forge give you an explanation as to how this happened?

They were in the process of moving into a bigger location and they said they had just grabbed one and not looked at it to get it out to me quickly, after talking to a few people they all said that the original intercooler would function perfectly fine but it was just piece of mind cuz I bought a new unit I wanted it to look nice, but they were extremely quick to resolve the issue and sent my new unit directly from the UK, I can’t wait to get this thing out on the track!

Well, I guess no matter how strict the quality control is, there will always be one mistake out of many many that slips through and I guess you just happened to be that unlucky person! :P

Anyways, I am glad to hear that everything worked out fine now!

This is definitely a fluke occurrence I sell Forge Intercoolers for R56 more than any other brand. I even installed one today and it was fine. This incident just shows why Forge is so good.

I agree 100% things happen its how they reacted that builds customer loyalty

Kind of off subject but i was wondering i could not seem to get the 4 plastic clips back on that are on the bottom of the front bumper is this normal?

The clips on the bottom can be a little tight sometimes, so you might have to push or pull on the bumper a little to get them to line up. If you have the standard bumper though and everything is lined up correctly then you shouldn't have much fitment issues using the provided grill.

The 2 aero kit bumpers will fit a little like *** and you usually have to push on the bumper pretty good to get the bottom to line up.

I thought that on the 2010's you did not use the new grill they provided lol well that would explain a lot of why it does not fit properly, I may just take the grill off instead of the whole bumper again try and get in there with some snips to trim it a little
