Gosh I hope this is not related to the Denso thread.

Technically they are all custom. I know that most companies out there have different programs for level of mod.
GIAC
Superchips
EVOTECH
AMD

I dont think anyone will tweak ECU programs specifically for you and I am not to sure you would want to.

I have had race cars that have systems that you can change on the fly like electromotive and let me tell you if you don’t really know what’s going on it is a pain to get right.

You can spend months trying to get it right and even just idle. Unless you have been in the biz for a long time and really know this particular engine, I can’t see any of the Mini tuners really doing it themselves. With that said again all the major players in the ECU world seem to have custom maps for every stage of mod.

I have seen several posts on this forum and Mini2 that talk about tuners having relationships with ECU folks that work toward custom ECU's but it seems they do some collaboration then sell it as a map for stage whatever.

There is also Powerchips, and then of course the WebbMotorsports flavor of Powerchips. And then the Jim Conforti Shark Injector.

I believe that AmD will custom tweak your ECU programs specifically. I know they do it in the UK and I believe that their New Jersey office now does it as well. But it costs money, since it is specifically for your car.

Thanks for the info!

So far (if I understand correctly) the vendors who do custom ECU work are:
AmD

I haven't seen anyone post that they have a custom program from any tuner.

AmD has stated this, although I haven't seen anyone take advantage of this. AmD US stated this on Jan. 3, 2004 at 8:46pm in this link
