So like the thread say. I have a 2006 mini cooper s...This just started happening not to long ago. Usually when the motor is cold, after starting the car and waiting to warm up a bit, I let off the clutch slowly and some weird loud noise comes from under the hood. It sounds like, metal machine shaving metal lol. Its kind of hard to describe the sound. but im pretty sure it has something to do with the clutch/transmission. if you hav experienced this before let me know.

I have exact same noise coming out of my hood after releasing the clutch. At first the noise only occurs when I started my car but now it makes the noise more often than before.
COnfused...

 

Mine has done this about 12 times in the last 99K miles....

Sounds like Chubaka from Star Wars...lol. Only happens first time staring out in first gear first thing in the morning and more often than not the night or day before it was quite wet out....

Dont worry about it.

 

yeah it only happens for first gear. I guess if it gets progressively worse ill have to take it to mini (which I probably will hate lol). but thanks for the input guys
