Drivetrain Clutch slipping when cold?
Clutch slipping when cold?
So my clutch slips when the temperature is below 50f.
I noticed it last winter. I had no issues all summer.
Today it is 40f out and it slips in 5th and 6th again.
Has anyone else had this issue?
Could it be anything other than the clutch being worn out? I only have 62k and i know the clutch have a sporadic life estimate.

Maybe the clutch is just cold. In extreme cold, sub 20º, my clutch seems to slip a little. But once it warms up it is fine. And in spirited driving, in any temperature, the clutch seems to grab better.
From a stop, put the car in 5th or 6th and hold the brake then let out of the clutch with no gas. If the car stalls right away, then your clutch is grabbing enough.

These clutches are not known for a more typical 125k lifespan. Mine will slip when cold now at 82k and has almost no feathering left in it.
All you can do is keep driving it until it is gone and replace.

Mine had started slipping when I was in too high a gear and didn't bother to downshift, and, yes, in cooler temperatures (stock/original at ~80,000 miles) - but I bought my MINI used (not sure how it was treated in the 47k miles before I got it) and do some autoX and track-time with it.
Does your pedal still have normal travel/feel? If yes, it's probably the clutch starting to go; if it's longer it may be a hydraulics issue (slave cylinder); if it's stiffer it may be a release (throwout) bearing issue.
Might want to start planning for the change (safe vs. sorry) ...
