I'm sure most of us are curious as to what kind of bov's are good for our mini's. I believe that bov's are meant for only noise. Well, so are cat-back exhaust systems without the downpipes.
I, for one, am a huge fan of the Hks blow off valve system, but haven't heard many reviews for which system is the best. I enjoy the sound of all hks systems.
Leave a comment on what you think is the best bov based on how install was, how the kit was put together, the sound, and looks.
From what i've read, our bov systems are more than a pain in the butt to install because we need to block off our stock bov's.
I'm curious as to which one is great for us because i've also read that after heavily modding our mini's that the stock Bov system cannot handle all that power, as it's meant for a stock mini.

Please use the search. It's a pain not because of the block off plate, it's because the mini uses a closed circulation system, aka if u use a vent to atmosphere, the system doesn't see the recirculated air, meaning you get a cel.

i haven't changed one but the Forge is supposed to be the best. alta are making a replacement for the stock one soon which could be good. I am waiting to see how it goes then I will get it or the forge one.

 

JUST SAY NO! ONLY use the stock diverter valve or an upgraded diverter valve.

Forge FM207V, doesn't make any noise, just works.

 

If you want the best get the Forge Kit, plus later you can change the spring out for different levels of boost.

 

Chinese hks knockoff, replacing the OEM noisemaker same location. Had to make a better seal for the mounting flange. Been in for a year, works like a champ. $60 well spent

Don't waste your money with a BOV. The stock BPV is BETTER than a BOV.

 

I'm not getting a blow off valve, i'm most likely getting an upgraded DV, WMW DV is 60$ and has a lot of good reviews.

 

My boyfriend has an HKS Supersequential on his 05 WRX and he loves it. My mechanic calls it a bird fart. The video sounds just like my boyfriend's WRX lol. I think the HKS is really the only aftermarket one I've stumbled upon for our cars to be honest.

 

Enough with the HKS SSQV! It will only give you problems for the special sound it makes. Prepare yourself for CELs!
