Short shifter install help

Went to put in my new cravenspeed shifter in my r53 and I'm stuck at one friggin shifter cable. The main cable for the shifter won't pop off no matter which way I twist, pull, push nothing. I don't remember it being this hard on my r56. I think I may have already bent the cable a tad so hopefully I didnt mess it up too bad. Any suggestions?

After using almost every tool in my tool box I opened it up one more time and the crows feet were starting at me. Crows foot with extension did the trick. I also did this install without completely removing the exhaust. I just dropped the front, took off the cross brace and got the heat shield off by rotating it around the exhaust. Still had plenty of room to work with.

Use a pair of needle nose pliers, and if you have a bent 90 deg set it's even easier.
