All,

Let me start by saying that I've got a 2003 MCS with all 3 packages. Picked it up 18 Nov 02 and I currently have 7400 miles on it. Yea, not many miles on it, but living here in Germany and living 3 miles from work what can you expect. Yes, some of you may suggest "Drive the Autobon" and I do. I've gotten it up to 125 MPH, out there, but after driving the MCS for a year now, I'm looking for some suggestions on performance mods. Both meaning faster and better handling. Oh, I guess I should say that I am driving a NON-modified MCS and STILL love it. I wouldn't consider any other vehicle.
If you'd like to see performance come to Germany. You would never believe the speed the Germans drive on the autobon. Mercedes pass me like I'm standing still, even when I am doing 125 MPH. Any considerations will help.

Mark

Get a pulley, track wheels/tires, and go here

Being in Germany, you have 3 choices that immediately come to mind.

AC Schnitzer, Hartge and Digi-Tec.

These are all well known and well reviewed tuners who offer very similar packages for the MCS. You can get pulley, ECU and exhaust for well under $3K, plus you get their 2 year warranty to boot.

You can probably buy the individual pieces cheaper from the US and possibly get more HP, however, you have to install them yourself and you lose out on any warranty.

Let me know if you want more details on the above.

Spend every cent of it on performance driving schools. Ok, maybe most of it with a suspension up grade or pulley upgrade or something. The driving schools will increase the performance of your MINI much more than any mechanical upgrade.

apex, JB00,

Thanks for your suggestions. Being in the military and traveling a lot lately, I haven't been able to get out and mod the MCS. Now that Sadam is history it's my turn to pay myself back...

Save it for repairs.

Or get the JCW so you'll have a (much needed) warranty.
