throwing CEL's

In the past 6 months i have had the timing chain replaced, turbo replaced, valve cover replaced. This weekend i was at a Norcalmini's run and had no boost through 1 and 2 gear but with 3rd gear it was fine. I also have a rough idle. I threw the MAF plausible fault. That is the same fault that i had when the valve cover and turbo was changed. Any suggestions? please! need help on this one! The SA said it could be my OCC causing all the problems. HELP!

Sure blame it on the mods. It would be interesting to see if it happens again with your OCC removed. It sounds like you have bigger unseen problems that haven't been discovered by proper diagnosis by the dealer. I noticed you have an automatic. MCS automatics are known to have the carbon build up issue very early compared to the manuals. That could be a cause of your rough idle. What other CELs are active?

LOL they replaced my MAF. I was running all over the place. My fuel index was -1 to +3. Has anyone had problems with CEL's due to the intake. I know i have a K&N but i asked if there was oil on it and they said no. I wonder if i getting turbulence going into the MAF from the filter? That was the only code i had!

It was most likely defective. My DDM RIS intake has a K&N filter on it and I've run it for 46,000 miles with no problems.

Even if there was trace oil on it...they wouldn't be able to see it. They would simply attempt to clean it if it were possible. They just replace the MAF...once it's contaminated it's as good as *****. I'd recommend not using an oiled filter. Yeah, I know some will disagree but....that is my personal opinion and preference.

well when i p/u the car this morning drove it around the block to still find 1psig of boost in 1st and 2nd gear. that was with the pedal mashed. Once i got into 3rd gear it jumped to 12psig. Drove it right back to mini. The SA had a ride along with the mechanic. They didn't believe me at first until they saw my boost gauge do 1 pisg. It does it intermittently only when i put it into manual. This car has issues!
