TPR-2 build

I have been saving up for a while and getting all the necessary parts to do a cylinder head swap on my 2006 R53. I have become addicted to upgrading since I got my mini a little of a year ago. So far I have added 15% pulley, Forge IC, Megan headers, Megan catback, GIAC Tune, 400 Injectors, K&N air intake, Megan Coilovers, Hotchkis upper and lower control arms, Hotckis competition rear and front sway bar, Front strut brace, and 15X9 6UL wheels.

Tomorrow I will be adding Thumper's TPR-2 head, Thumpers ported intake manifold, NS1 Camshaft, MSD Coilpack, Nology Hotwires, and brisk silver plugs. I am hoping to go from about 200 whp to 240-250 whp.

I will post the results on thursday to let you all know how it turned out. Needless to say I am more then excited.

While I wish you the best of luck, that may be a bit overly optimistic....

Hope you can do a before and after dyno in roughly the same conditions; love to see the delta!

If you want to see 240-250 you're going to need to loose the GIAC and get a real tune. You should look into getting a good water/meth kit fromwww.howertonengineering.com. It will really wake-up your mods.

I'm looking forward to seeing your results. Like cct1 said, try and get a before and after dyno. Even if you do it the day before you put the head on at least you can get an idea of what you got for all your work.

Yea the GIAC tune is not working now with the upgrades I have so what I really want to do is drive up to RMW to have Jan tune it. I live in San Diego so its a short drive to Irvine for me.

There ya' go--you'll get it sorted out. May be more involved than what you were originally planning, but you're headed in the right direction.
