2007 mini cooper s K&N Typhoon Intake System

Just installed K&N typhoon intake system in my 2007 Cooper S (51K miles) a few weeks back. As there are a lot of posts asking about real life experience, thought I'd post mine thus far:
1. Engine is a lot less peaky accelerating, much smoother acceleration, stronger take-off. Helps a lot considering the dreaded torque steer.
2. Seems to be idling smoother.
3. No noticeable increased noise - EXCEPT - turbo wastegate noise is much more noticeable which is nice. I never could hear the wategate whoosh prior to installing the intake, even with the windows open.
4. Exhaust noise seems to have a little deeper throaty noise, likey.
5. Seems to increase gas mileage slightly, maybe 1 or 2mpg...

Install was flawless and the quality of parts was impressive.
Extremely satisfied!!

mine is the same way but watch out for the filter housing hitting the head of the engine. had to make a minor bend in it to stop touching. other than that i give it a 9/10
