Godspeed TMIC

I was looking to upgrade my tmic and i stumbled upon this. I have seen tons of people put the godspeed intercoolers on dsm, rx7, civics, but has anyone heard of or tried a Top mount version on the MINI also any ideas of what to do with a diverter?

When it comes to our IC's, bigger is not necessarily better. And if you can't remove that plastic monstrocity of a bonnet diverter and bolt a DDM or Alta diverter to the IC, I would hold out for a good one unless you are just into the "bling" scene.

That looks cheap. The mounting tabs aren't even usable since they don't line up with where the brackets would go. This can be bad cause under load the intercooler will move with the boost and can pull the boots off.

Check out the GP intercooler, it has shown IMO to be the best.

Look at how much the rubber couplers are displaced when the godspeed IC is installed. I highly doubt that is good for the couplers, which are under stress already...

+1 for the GP IC as well, for a quick and easy installation

apparently you only need 3 of the 4 clamps.

Wow....that is a major POS LOL

Save your money and get some actual go fast parts......pulley, intake, exhaust, head, tune. The OEM IC is a very efficient design and really doesn't need to be replaced until you start upping the HP of the engine.

Just noticed in the install picture the intercooler is mounted 180 degrees out. It looks like the mounting tabs that they show up top would line up if the intercooler was flipped. That solves the poor mounting comments. Doesn't help with the tweaked couplers or if it even helps cool the inlet air any better though.
