Drivetrain 15% pulley
15% pulley
Hey everyone I am in the market for a reduce size pulley. I see there are a couple of kits being sold out there. One is the WMW pulley package and the other is a pulley package from ALTA. Does any one have any input on either kits?
I got my Helix 15% pulley from WMW and had Helix themselves install it along with a Dinan CAI, plugs and rear sway. Never tried any other pulleys, but I'd imagine they're all pretty much the same unless you get 16%, 17%, 19% or whatever.
It is all about support, and service after the sale.
The connector style on the ALTA is different (unless you go with the alts classic...they bring it back every few months...THAT should tell you newer is not better...).
WMW Has everything you need for a good price...and I think they offer loaner pulley pullers in most cases...a big $$ saver.

sure a search is good, but perhaps a mod should not try to make posts that reduce the thread count and decrease site traffic....
back to the op....the vendors selling pullies is slowing decreasing and some sizes are getting harder to find....
the size choice is a big one....octane, ambient temps in your you area will help you decide 15% or 17%....in nh with 93 octane I went the 17% (craven speed pulley was the pulley de-jour at my preceded installed that day) and I have been happy....add a cai for some better sound, and a bigger swaybar...maybe an exaust, and it is truely a different car for a very reasonable cost!

Well said, there are a whole new batch of owners as the first gen cars get passed on. Thanks to those who keep answering the same questions. It helps a lot.
At the risk of betraying myself as an *ss, is there a sticky on Searching?
As you have no doubt noticed I tend to recommend Google, using the site:northamericanmotoring term to aim here.
No disrespect to the forum software mind you...
I'm also sympathetic to the new folks in this realm, and wish them to have the same positive experience I have had, and so I sometimes bite my tongue (e.g. check the new thread today called "what's the best exhaust" or some such).
It's a bit of a balancing act isn't it...
Kind regards,
Charlie

My MINI has a WWW kit under the bonnet. Way did the install at t mod party with a canned tune.... I could not be happier with the results and service. Way is a GREAT person and super knowledgeable about MINI's. Hey Way, is the check in the mail yet??
Consider WWW, seriously, good guy, products and service, you will be happy.

The pulley is all stainless and comes with what you need, not anything extra.
