Drivetrain PULLEYS
i've got a ?.i have a cooper s with john cooper works kit and it has a hi-end torque pulley.now my dealer at mini of towson told me they have a smaller pulley with low end torque. which is better?what's differents? should i keep what i have or change it out?my cooper s is just a every day drive car.
The JCW kit uses a smaller pulley. The majority of pulleys you see on the aftermarket are mostly 15% (same as JCW). There are 17%,19%,and some smaller being tested, but for a daily driver, stick with the one you have...
Ummm, this doesn't make much sense. He probably has a smaller diameter supercharger pulley than what comes stock with the JCW (which would give you more boost sooner in the power band) and wants to sell you on that. Try and find out what percentage the reduction is on this "low-end torque" pulley and have him explain the difference to you.
