Very stupid question!!

Tune/reflash for 2007+ NON-"S"??? Has it been done?

Posting here since sensible base owners would not consider this stupid idea - but "S" owners might have.

Going to dump my still factory warrantied S and buy a 2011 Base, unless any of you have wives, GFs, or daughters who want to swap their 2007 base for mine (at Edmunds True Valuepricing - i.e. + $2-2.5k).

I've heard talk about tuning the Justa, and a local dyno/tuning shop says they can get some small gains, but I don't know much beyond that.

Out of curiosity, why are you making that trade?

Reason for downgrade...

Engine reliability.

I have already had vacuum pump failure at 33k, and now at 49k an oil leak (they basically did a rebuild, timing belt, etc.)...in shop now...

If I keep it, things will be fine if I buy 100K extended warranty - but with dealer 45 miles away it will by 1/2 day lost fot the inevitable problems...worth it for some...

I spend most of my time under 3,000 revs (never got worse than 32 mpg in city), really only gunning it to merge on highways, passing, - so it really is all about the handling enjoyment/refinement for me - which I can get with the base without the hassle

yes it can and has been done. I have watched RMW dyno tune one at Helix. Not a lot of performance gain but more drivability if I remember correctly.

Thanks Killerfox. I'll contact RMW direct if I end up getting a base model.
