All those acronyms. What is TVS, and most importantly the estimated cost of the Rotrex Kit from RMW?
Old-school superchargers had two-bladed rotors and were straight in design. Later designs have three-bladed rotors with a 60-degree twist. The TVS setup from Eaton has four-bladed, teflon-coated razor-edge blades with a 160-degree twist. You can read more here: http://www.eaton.com/EatonCom/Produc.../TVS/index.htm.

Chevrolet was one of the first companies to use this design, as it comes on their supercharged ZR-1 Corvettes from the factory.

here's a pic of the TVS 1320 that I crammed into my car.
The blower was awesome, did exactly what Eaton said it would do. The ONLY problem with the 1320 is it is too big to fit as a stock replacement without having to modify just about everything. There will be a TVS900 this YEAR.... (yes, it's FINALLY coming) and we will be making a kit with it.

Having tested the product it will do what WE WANT to do with the blower and do it reliably

Did a little research. Cheapest price I see on the market for current TVS designs (in a larger size) is $6K. Hoping the R900 will be cheaper than that.

Here's a PDF file for reference as well: http://www.engine-expo.com/forum_200...rt_walling.pdf.

my guess would be the $3500 range

Great article by the way............shows why superchargers are superior in most cases. As I said before, the TVS is an awesome s/c , the TVS1320 wasn't suitable because of the costs to make the kit. As for "stupid" power at ANY INSTANCE...........it was the most amazing Mini I have ever driven and I've driven every type of Mini out there.

What about the 1040 Jan? Would it require lots of modification to fit also? Its a little bigger then the 900 and a little smaller then the 1320.

By the way. I got to try out the OSGiken a little in the canyons behind my house today. Night and day to the open diff. I can stay on the throttle without pushing through. What really surprised me was that it broke traction and it just kept pulling the corner.

from my sources at Eaton, it doesn't look like the 1040 may get produced this year so we will go with what's available and what will actually fit

the OS is awesome, no doubt

DAMN YOU EATON!!!!!!

Do you think the TVS900 will make about as much as the small Rotrex, with a better curve? The Rotrex comes on like a turbo. High hard and fast. I figure the main difference is going to be whats down low.

I thought you might like that file. I've been a huge fan of the TVS design ever since it came out.

Cool outlet temps

That's a bit of a understatement I think. After the full throttle ride in the "low power" yellow Mini, the "hot side" was almost the same temp as the discharge side. I would say COLD outlet temps lol.
