Drivetrain Is It Possible to make a 2nd Gen S Go Fast
You can hear as much or little of the blow-off valve as you like. We now have a CAI cap in addition to our popular CAI noise baffle.
As a side note, we've found that automatic transmission 2nd-Gen MCS's don't like low restriction CAI's very much (ours and others). They like a decent amount of restriction before the MAF.
The best recipes we've found for improving low-end torque & HP for around town driving and in low speed twisties on auto trans R55, R56, & R57 MCS's are:
A) run a panel filter in the stock airbox
-or-
B) run the DoS CAI with the cap in place
-or-
C) run the JCW intake --(WMW normally has a good price on these if you go the JCW route).
CARB certified does not mean better. NM just has deeper pockets than most of the other MINI parts developers out there.
