Temporary rough Idle upon stopping. :c(

I have a 2010 clubman turbo automatic transmission with less than 4,000 miles. Today when I stopped in my driveway from running around town the engine pulsed a few times. By that I mean it felt like it was going to stall and then it recovered. Cycled like that a few times before idling normal again. It goes from normal to slow back to normal in about a second. So I took it out to see if it would do it again and it does. Seems that if I stop quickly it does not do it, but if I slow to a crawl it does.

Any ideas what this could be? It never did this before. I did get get gas today and filled it up from half empty with Exxon Supreme 93 octane from my usual gas station. Any chance this could be bad gas? Car drives normally otherwise as far as I can tell.

Thanks,

Ken

Early symptoms of high pressure fuel pump failure perhaps?
I'm facing a similar issue just that mine stutters also from 1-2k rpm..

Happens, on occasion, mostly on colder days - so far I'm putting it aside as quirk.

Any chance it could be when the cooling fan kicks in? It draws a fair bit of power and causes the alternator to increase output, which kinda makes the engine idle hickup a bit.....maybe.

mine has been doing the same thing this winter... very sporadic, has never stalled... for now im chalking it up to "winter gas", we'll see if it happens at all during the summer.
