Bizarre at best. Probably crap. Never would consider ordering a "colored" pulley, especially since you can't even see it...

I once knew a mustang GT club. They had stangs as far as the eye could see. Two 92 GT's... best friends, Identical mods... Save for one stang had an underdriven pulley. Under driven pulley car was quicker. Lots of the mustang and other f-body v8 goons swear by them.

RANDY test this thing!

I've heard of these things being used in VW Passats with good results.
But, I'm sure that results greatly depend on the vehicle and the driving style.
I'm also sure the engineers put some thought into the size of the pulleys on the MINI and I doubt that you could do much better with some compromise.
Keep in mind. If you have a MCS, it will make your SC spin slower (less boost, less power).

Please refrence this thread!

www.northamericanmotoring.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=phpBB_14&file= index&action=viewtopic&topic=21264

There is a search feature, this is only a page or 2 into the site, and the second on the search engine.

Thanks

This under pulley makes no sense. I think it is quite dangerous what they are trying to pull. If you underspin the water pump aren't you going to have less flow going through your engine. Not to mention your Alternator and AC compressor. I say to this mod ... If it smells like colone leave it alone!.

Cheers

I hvae had a few of these pulleys on cars in the past with great results. However they were all natural aspiration or NA cars. I campaigned a dodge neon acr with one and dropped 1/4 mile times .2-.4 seconds with even better lap times. So they do in fact work.

The problem is the mini s is supercharged so add this and you will make less boost and less power. For the regular mini this probally wouldnt be a bad mod. Everyone with an S should stay away from this.

Thanks

If you were to do this type of a mod you would have to take into considering the vibration damper etc as well...if those things were included it would be fine...only problem then is your spinning the supercharger slower which results in less boost and less hp...not good...so in conjunction with these you would also need a supercharger pulley around 22% or more reduction to compensate for that.

So what is the problem if you run a smaller pulley for the supercharger/waterpump that is specifically meant to equalize the changes the underdrive pulley makes for the other components?

because the current underdrive pulleys for the crank on the market do not take into consideration the harmonic balancer/vibration damperer.
