25 PSI off stock supercharger

So, here we go again. I keep tripping a Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit Malfunction CEL. The car acts like it has pep, but once you accelerate and start gaining speed it acts like it's starving for fuel. Toake matters worse, the boost gauge starts to go over 25 psi!!!! I don't know what's going on with this car, but it's really ticking me off. Standard mods. 15% s/c pulley, 2% oversized crank pulley, CAI, and recently I reverted back to an OEM bypass valve. 1 year ago I changed both MAP sensors. Anybody want to chime in?

Sounds like a MAP sensor issue. Have you tried geting the ECU reset?

My 83' GTi had a bad cat. Golf ball size chunks of ceramic inside would settle until I gave it some gas at which time these chunks would relocate to the back of the cat output effectively blocking exhaust flow.

How good are the free flow cats as a replacement. Any drawbacks on a daily driver ? Inspection issues ?

Magnaflow makes California Legal ones. They are a subpart number I believe, called the California CARB Compliant. I believe you get a 4 year, 50k mile warranty on them.

So obviously that's why my muffler shakes so violently when I shut her down and it crackles and pops from the heat. So, I guess I'll be pulling the cat off. I take it the plugged converter causes too much back pressure on the engine? Thanks Way and everybody else who chimed in.
