Alta Ignition & v2 15% Pulley Performance Package and more..

Hello Everyone,

I just got my mini back from letting my brother borrow it for an entire year!!! I am very happy today. It pretty well needs an entire tune up, it is completely stock.

It is a 2006 MCS 6speed with 80k miles. I already did the brakes, air filter, oil filter/oil change.

I am planning on getting the Alta ignition/v2 15% pulley package. $388 (any one know a coupon code?)
4 new Yokohama Parada Spec-2 tires (discount tire) $550.
The Alta Sport Suspension package $640

I wanted to ask you guys if you recommended the Alta packages, I need the tires for sure. The pulley package is because I need a new belt, and sparkplugs so I might as well do the package. But I wanted to know about the pulley on a 80K mile MCS?

Also, do I get flat pin or round pin?

On the tires, they are way better than the cheap khumos, and still relatively cheap, here in Houston we go through tires like wiper blades, actually like windshields, and wheels too, lol. Had replaced the windshield 3 times (rocks from trucks/18wheelers), 2 wheels (potholes), and a million wiper blades due to the heat then rain then heat then rain. But tires also, I want an aggressive look when lowering it too, so i figured might as well get the ALTA sport package to drop it and add the sway bar and endlinks all at once.

I am a certified pro on a mitsubishi and toyota, but on a Mini I am completely new, oh and i am a pro on turbos, never worked on a SC. So all this Mini stuff is new to me besides driving the hell out of my MCS.

Please give your opinions on whether i should get the Items mentioned, Yes and why, or No and why, and the alternative you think. I want to build it the way you guys think it should be done.

Thanks,

Eze Trufires.

If you need new plugs and the belt, get the package. The reduction pulley will make your car alive.

If your looking for a pulley package check our package out
http://www.waymotorworks.com/wmw-pulley-package.html
It has everything you need and nothing you don't.

Also if you get the MSD coil be advised your factory screws will not fit it, and it also puts out less voltage than the screamin demon which I recommend.

That's a pretty good price on the set of Yokos.

For suspension do some research. You'll find endlinks are costly and unnecessary unless you plan to corner weight the car. And do some research on springs for ride quality, shock travel, and amount of lowering.
We have a suspension pack that uses the TSW springs that we found out perform everything else, and top of the line Hsport rear sway bar and camber links. You'll need the camber links to get your rear toe and camber set for handling, and improved tire wear.

trufires-Most tuners will tell you to save your money & not buy a coil pack. The stock one works fine.

The folks who sell those coil packs think they're great.

Hello! We can give you a deal, if you give us a call, we can set you up with a little better price.

I wouldn't recommend those tires though, they're really old! There's a lot newer tires that you can get at the same price that will perform better.

The pulley should be fine on your 80K car, but it's hard to tell how long the supercharger will last on these cars, some cars last 75K, some go twice that many!

To check the coil pack pins, you will want to check the connection where the wiring harness plugs into your coilpack. Most likely they are flat.

The suspension package is a great place to start. If you are want to add a bar and springs, you might as well get them all at once!

On the Alta site, I saw a 'suspension package' for the R56, but didn't see one for the R53. Is there one?

Tlr, We don't have a suspension pack like we do for the R56, but if you give us a call, we can hook you up! Or send me a PM for exactly what you're looking for, and I'll send you a quote, thanks!
