New Exhaust

Ok so my 03 mcs had a starter failure. I'm talking FAILURE!! I thought to myself, hey since i have to pull the header anyways why not just replace it. I also thought hey there is a kick-butt deal from grey raven for a JCW full cat-back. SOOOO i got me a Megan racing header with a JCW resonator and Cat-back.

After fighting with the starter, which was crazy btw, i finally got everything hooked up and back working. This included 2 different starters since the first one blew the solenoid to bits when i tried to crank it. ANYWAYS everything is back together and tightened up, and i crank it up. WOW is it loud! I mean inside loud and outside loud. No the ricer kinda loud that will set off alarms, its a good deep tone outside. Inside there is a good amount of drone, especially between 2k and 3k rpm. The seats actually vibrate at the low/mid range rpm.

Anyways just thought i would share my adventure. If anyone ever wants to hear the crap i went through with my starter let me know ill post it up some time.

Loving the mini again!

Hrmmm I've been mulling over a header for my JCW exhaust too... I'm just to afraid I won't like the drone compared to stock header.

BTW still have those rims!

have the stock cat welded onto the section where the megan racing header resonator/ test pipe is... this should solve your issues

good luck

yeah i thought about that since i still have the old one. Sadly the old one was welded at the flange so ill have to have 2 new flange ends created

That was a story in itself getting the FULL exhaust off the car with only a floor jack and a scissor jack
