Alta CAI is a MUST

I finally got my first mod and installed it yesterday. Holy S@(*#) is this thing loud! I couldn't believe how much better the intake/supercharger sounds! I knew it was the loudest intake for the R53 but I didn't think it would be that loud. For anyone who wants a ***** out, loud as hell modded cooper S, get this intake! My car screeeaaaaams now.

As for the whistling sound, I love it. To me it just sounds alot more mechanical knowing that the throttle body is doing its job opening up. The intake also brings out the stock diverter valve sound as you let off the gas. TBH I didn't even know it had a diverter valve.

edit: as for power. The throttle response is certainly improved. Any other legitimate performance gains are completely minimal. Just buy it for that bad *** sound!

This is exactly how I felt when I installed my alta cai. Been almost two years and no complaints yet.

I have since purchased many products from alta and have been satisfied with each mod so far.

I had the V2CAI and loved it. Then after installing the JCW airbox missed that great sound. So I put the ALTA V2 JCW foam replacement filter in my JCW box. Other than the size it is exactly the same as the filter for the V2 CAI. It is a great combination and the additional sound was welcomed as well.

I agree, there is nothing like the sweet sound of the supercharger greatly enhanced by the Alta CAI. I do not believe I would or could go back to the factory intake. Excellent product!!!

P.S. --- I have shown off my Alta CAI to every one that I know. I especially like the red intake hose and giant foam filter.

Hey miniroofers,
If you haven't already heard about the "magic switch" on the R53, here's the entire kit for a reasonable price: http://bit.ly/bs5HNA

Happy motoring dude!

Hey Alta John,

I recently bought your CAI kit when I saw that it was only $169.00. I didn't see if I could select a different color slicone hose though. Is there a way I can make sure it comes as red?

Thanks.

The Alta CAI metal box and s/c pulley are the only Alta products i have been happy with (had the full CAI w/ inlet, PSRS, Catch Can, pulley) . Concerning the inlet hose, the Samco is a MUCH nicer and better fitting piece.

For what it is worth; the DDM CAI makes just as much noise as the Alta, which i agree, is a glorious sound.

I asked this question a while ago, They suggested to contact them directly. They should hook you up with a colored hose, if you do.

OT: and KC, I have an Alta Catch Can, mine is a 100% solid product what was the problem with yours? PSRS just had terrible bushing life.

Aww, guys, it isn't THAT loud! (warning, cliche movie reference follows) It does give that Italian Job" soundtrack sound though. Combine with Borla Race for a truly intoxicating blend.

True, but we have a VERY LIMITED supply. So if you want a red hose it's best to contact us sooner rather than later.
