Drivetrain JCW sport brake kit - red caliper paint question
JCW sport brake kit - red caliper paint question
Will be installing a new R53 JCW sport brake kit on my 04 MCS tomorrow. Quick question on the red paint used on the calipers, is it resistant to a) brake fluid and b) brake cleaner? Just want to know as a precaution because brake fluid will get onto it during the install and bleed process. Thanks
Using a piece of tubing over the brake bleed screw to allow fluid flow to a proper container so air will NOT SUCK back in is the old school method .... but works with a "Pumper" in the car.
Using a vacuum bleed system is the modern way of one man brake bleeding...and you should not be spilling a drop.
As said the powdercoat is pretty tough .... but be cautious and clean off any spilled brake fluid immeadiatly.

Thanks for the replys. Installed on Saturday, allmost bedded in. Only bled the fronts using a one-man bleeding kit, minimal spillage which I quickly removed. Kept slight pressure on brake pedal when removing the calipers so no fluid escaped out of the hoses. Very satisfied so far.
