I have an MCSa and I switched to the stg2 map and it helped my rpm searching immensely. That to me is the only issue, the surging rpms in A/T, otherwise the power is very useful and seems to be spot on. But, that being said, with the AP installed, I just don't feel the car is as reliable as it was without it. Very quirky.

If you guys are having any issues let me know, maps@altaperformance.com If it's an auto, email me the tune that you are running, modifications done to the car, and octane of fuel that you're running.
The problem that Shawn is having sounds like something that we've seen before, and can help with a new map. We have a lot of customers with autos running around with the AccessPORT and they are very happy.

I have been running the Stg2 map with intake, 2.5" exhaust, FMIC, and hot side boost tube, and I have run the stg 2 for a while now with no issues. The car responds better with the stg 2 tune and boost levels havent exceeded 21-22 psi. I'm not recommending you do this. I'm just saying it can be done. I have extra gauges so I can monitor my car also, which helps. I've gotten 3 stg 1 revisions that only seemed to make the idle issue worse. Switched to stg 2, and problem solved.

Better keep $8000.00 tucked underneath your mattress for when your motor detonates.

If mine had not been covered I would have never spent $8k to have them put in another motor though. Could have built a much better motor for cheaper...but can't complain when it was free.

I was thinking you meant that was the cost for an owner to overhaul it.

I received my accessport 3 weeks ago and when i installed it all the stage 1 tunes cause the same problem. Everytime the car changes gear i lose all power and then i get a surge of power. It feels as if someone is repeadetly jamming on the throttle. Im not being picky the car is actually undriveable with the Accessport installed, and on top of that my Rpms are very unstable when the car is idleing. The car even does this when im using the tiptronic. I was wondering if anyone had this problem I have a 2009 clubman A/T with an alta CAI and Turbo Inlet. When I uninstall the AP my car runs beautifully. And ive had the car looked at by a MINI mechanic who also said everything is fine Mechanically. I Talked to Jeff at Alta but hes never heard of it before. So please any advice would be really appreciated.-Thanks

Well it depends on what mods you have and what octane gas you have avaiable. From your sig sounds like you are a stage 1.
There are usually 2 maps per mod/oct level. Regular & tps (more linear throttle). Peoples preference varies.
Goodluck you'll love it.
On a side note, I used to live in jersey city and worked in Hoboken for years.
