I was wondering how many Cooper S owners out there have used the Magnaflow exhaust in conjunction with the Pilo intake. What are your impressions on this combination? I know that sound is very subjective and I have not been able to hear a magnaflow in person but I have heard many comments the one I most remember is that it will make my MINI sound like a big bad Austin Healey. If anyone could direct to some sound clips online that would be great. Thanks

With the Intake and Exhaust, you are going to get 2 Different Types of Sounds. The intake will free up the intake, and allow some supercharger noise into the Compartment (Not Obnoxious though) With the MAgnaflow, You are going to add a low tone the the exhaust.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

Thanks

I'm running Pilo and Magnaflow right now, no other mods yet. Pilo makes the supercharger whine twice as loud (woooo!) and gives extra thrust, Magnaflow makes it sound like a race car, and doing stoplight revs gives you a great popping sound. Plus even more thrust, lol.

I had to bump my own old thread back from the dead. After more than 2 and a half years from my original post and onto my second MCS I just purchased a Pilo intake. My first MINI remained completely stock, but this one isn't. After having the exhaust on for a while I need the intake to hear some supercharger whine!!

I can't wait. I might need to do a less than professional installation in my college parking lot. All my tools are at home though so I might need to wait for the weekend. I was actually really close to going with the Magnaflow too but got the MyMINI at the last minute. Now the MyMINI has mellowed down quite a bit.
