exhaust tone w/ catless dp

hey everybody. i currently have a factory jcw exhaust hooked up with a catless downpipe and a resonator delete. i dont mind the loudness of it, but i personally dont like the raspiness of it at low rpms (kinda sounds like a truck )...

i was wondering if any of u guys know an exhaust i could hook up to my catless downpipe that will still give off that nice low, evil, and aggessive tone while reducing some of the rasp?

*NOTE: i kno some of you will tell me to just put the resonator back on but im scared the car will then give off a single loud tone that sounds like its in a hollow can. thanks for all the help!

The Invidia is not raspy at all. Just a clean, deep and aggressive sound like you want.

Anytime you run catless though, there is a certain amount of rasp that is going to be present. On my R53 (which are MUCH louder than R56's...), I was catless for a while and I just could not stand the raspy tone. I love volume...but the tone is what bothered me. So I added an aftermarket cat just for that reason, problem fixed.

Throw the resonator back on it. That will take some of the raspy out of it.

Either resonator or replace the muffler with a pass-through type but with more deadening material than the JCW. I have the DDWWorks catback from my catless exhaust and it is mostly a mid-range / low aggressive sound. DDMWorks use some type of Magnaflow muffler, but i'm not sure what model it is.

If I were you I would research mufflers from Magnaflow, Dynatech, and other manufacturers, save the tips from the JCW muffler, and have a skilled welder fabricate something for you. You'll save a lot of money!

Any type of acoustic damping will muffle the "burble". If you want more of it back without fiddling with the exhaust, that's done with an ECU tune.
