Drivetrain Rocker arms needed!!!
Rocker arms needed!!!
Can anyone tell me the best place to buy single rocker arms? I found three cracked valve lashing caps on my intake rockers. After installing my cam I noticed some faint noise coming from the valve cover. I pulled it off to find three cracked valve lashing caps. Two were laying on the top of the head and one was still attached to the rocker.
From the searching I've done so far, I've found that there are only part numbers for a left and right rocker arm on the intake side. I noticed that two of them have the number 782AA stamped on one side but on the other side one has B9 and the other B12 stamped. The last one has 881AA on one side and B2 on the other side.
The only place I could find a listing for them was at Allminiparts.com. I'm going to try my local Mini dealer tomorrow if they're open.
Any comments or help you could provide would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

With the lack of replies is it safe to conclude that nobody has anything to offer for help?
I've decided to do a temporary fix until I can get new rockers. I used plastic weld in a very thin coat to bond the cracked valve lashing caps. This stuff is just like adding more plastic to them and very strong. My only concern with doing this is that two of the three rockers have a bit of wear on the metal tip of the rocker where it meets the lashing tip. They seem to move around smoothly without binding though. I'm going to coat them with assembly lube before installation for added protection.
Any thoughts?

In case anyone was wondering, it worked. Obviously a temporary fix.
If anyone is deciding to do a cam swap the best advice I can give is to be extremely careful when reinstalling the rocker arms. Especially the intake side. As far as special tools are concerned, none are needed.

LMAO
I just drove it and it runs and sounds great but I'm still going to limit driving it until I get my new rocker arms. I hope I can get the new improved rockers with the metal lashing caps. I'm going to pull it apart after it cools off to make sure everything stayed together.
