fyi was playing with my new PLX DM-150 ODB and monitoring my AIT's I noticed I was around +10 ambient reproduceable at steady same speed gear driving (cruise control). Was messing with something and decided to for the heck of it spray down my intercooler fins with som electronics cleaner I mean I really dowsed it good outside was somewhat noticeably cleaner. once dry took it for a spin and was noticing between 3-5 degree above ambient! I was suprised I wasnt even looking for this result or any from the spraying. I even let it sit in the heat after running it came back and drove till the 130ish AIT dropped to the steady +3 ambient when on cruise control. I was suprised didnt realize I had that much gunk between the fins!

 

good stuff. Worth checking/doing when I wash the car next.

 

Even just using brake cleaner will work as well.

I use a dilution of Simple Green on mine while washing it and rinse it off after finishing the wash and it keeps it nice and clean.

 

Never hurts to clean the intercooler, you can also clean out the inside.
