Drivetrain Revolution Mini's Works sneak peak of new performance parts
An upgrade from Eaton would be the TVS line, but the planned model appropriate for our small 1.6L is still not in production.
Better yet is a centrifugal style, like a Rotrex.
Better still is a twin screw.
I don't know, but I would bet $$$ that RMW is not wasting time in development of an M62 kit. Let me reword my earlier statement. I am sure the M62 is a fine SC and the perfect selection for some, but for what I want in a SC it is just not a wise upgrade path.

Hey that electric pump upgrade to the cooling system is significant in and of itself. Running the coolant at 25-30F cooler is going to make a performance difference and is definitely step towards higher reliability.
we have a regulator that will regulate the temps and fan output
we need to get it all hooked up and let it self regulate. I would like the car just a little warmer

we also ran my oil cooler system and the oil looks like you just poured it in after a hard weekend of hammering the engine
me likey...........mucho!

this was a post by Ian about how to compare NASA to Redline Time Attack times
[FONT=verdana, geneva, lucida, 'lucida grande', arial, helvetica, sans-serif]Redline bascially divides up into 3 classes. Street, Modified, and Unlimited.
Street allows for bascially unlimited power so long as you have a cat, some interior, street tires and pass a 3.5 inch ride height requirment.
Modified allows again bascially unlimited power, no interior but you have run a 50 or higher treadware tire.
Unlimited again allows unlimited power but you run a full slick.
If I saw a Dyno sheet and knew the mod's I could tell you what TT class they'd fit into.
Basically from what I know on the ABF cars the power/weight due to the tq on the JCW would probably put their JCW car in TTB and depending on other mods maybe enough points to move to TTA. The Turbo car if they make the power they say it does would be too fast for TTU at a 4.7:1 power to weight. They get modifiers to help that but they'd probably need to pull 80 or more HP out to be TTU legal and run DOT tires instead of slicks. So currently the car is TTR legal.
So if you'd like to compare...
The TTR lap record at Calclub is...
TTR 4 Bart Carter 05 Radical SR-8 1:36.46 3/14/10
The TTU lap record at Calclub is....
TTU 3 JC Meynet 06 Subaru STI 1:43.56 8/2/09
The ABF turbo car ran a 1:52.141
The TTA lap record at Calclub is....
TTA 212 Patrick Lindsey 01 Audi S4 1:50.24 3/12/06 (note set a few years ago, so things are faster now and it probably hasn't been updated)
And TTB
TTB 81 Keith Parker 72 Chevy Corvette 1:52.52 3/13/05 (again very old record)
and TTC (my old class)
TTC 77 Greg Greenbaum 04 Dodge SRT4 1:54.05 3/18/07 (again old record, that car is now in TTB)
The ABF JCW car did a 1:58.049
But the TT time's was done on Race tires, and the 1:58 was on street tires. Hoosiers over the Street tires would probably at Cal club bring him to a 1:56 or a 55 or so.
That's about the best you can do on trying to compare. But the cars are built for a totally different set of rules. I'd probably pull the midrange boost back on a JCW car and try to sneak it into TTC, Add camber and race tires.

This product line of Eaton Superchargers is relatively low efficiency, too much drag, too much heat, too much noise, etc., etc.

At any rate i was still interested in the electric pump set up on the race car as i would like to eliminate the blower driven unit for reliabilities sake along with power drag.
I completely agree with everything you've said. Thank you for expounding on your previous entry. I understand you've been doin minis for quite some time. This is my first one but definately not my first modified let alone highly modified vehicle. As far as blower choice I again agree with your statement concerning TVS and twin screw type blowers. The reason I even mentioned the M62 was the fact that i had heard throught the grapevine that Ian and Company were testing a retrofit kit for a VERY easy to source unit. Aside from the fact that the case dimensions are almost identical. Right or wrong thats where that comment came from. As far as the actual blowers are concerned, I would love to lean on Kenne Bell for a twin screw to put on our cars. I had a 2.2L KB with a Mammoth inlet on my '01 Mustang and LOVED it!!! RIP...

there is sometimes Mis-information put out there by us and also by the competition.........so if you truly want to believe it.........
you can always see it first hand from us
And that sir is why I posted. Didn't want to continue the rumor mill. Your car and and your R&D interests me greatly. Keep up the good work. BTW who would you fine gentleman recommend to tune my car? She's gonna be back together by the end of the week. ;-D
No problem, the Mini community is very small but the rumors that go around are VERY large
Keep an eye out on the forums as we release more info about the electric water pump system and other upgrades. I hear there is some super secret stuff being put together right now for testing............
Last "rumor" I heard was there was a 100hp+ version coming out later this year over this kit............... "rumor" of course

Source of what...........
