Tensioner stop just fell off, what should I do?

I just had a mini mechanic 3 hours away, put an Alta 15% supercharger pulley 4 days ago, and today when I was starting off for work, I started to hear a loud squeeking noise coming from the belt area, later to realise that my tensioner stopper was loose, and a few minutes later just fell off and the squeeking stopped, car seems to ne running fine, I just wanted to make sure am safe to drive it, any tips please?

Iwould check to see if you lost the bolt that held the tensioner stop on the tensioner. If you did, look on real OEM and get the bolt size and replace it and the stop. Use some Blue Loctite when you put it back together.

Thanks so much, I was avoiding trying to Jack up my motor and everything, so that's why I took my car to this shop for them to do it, unfortunately this happens a few days later. Do you think it will be safe to drive, I see the lower bolt of the stopper, but am not able to see top one, I proly lost that one.

No, don't drive the car - the belt drives the blower, water pump & alternator.

You are talking about the safety stop? Look http://new.minimania.com/web/Item/nme1202/invDetail.cfm you can see a bare assembly. The bolt is a common part - you can get 1 at most hardware stores. If the tensioner fails - you have a problem

The belt seems intact, no noise or anything else I can notice. So should I still not drive it?

Is there a missing bolt? If so, I wouldn't drive the car...... there are 2 bolts that hold a damper - shock in place, the damper controls the bounce in the belt, the spring keeps the tension - the tensioner could fail with too much bounce

Hey guys, just observed the car and noticed that both bolts are on the damper, but the lower bolt is loose to the touch, so am gonna park my car and get it towed to the shop on monday to have the bolts tightened and the tensioner stopper put back on. Thanks!!!
