Drivetrain Pulley and plugs

Pulley and plugs
Alright, long story short, I'm going to have a pulley and all the normal accessories involded with a pulley, installed soon. I would do it myself, but i do not have the requipred tools, jacks, etc. So I have about a 3 hour drive to the nearest MINI competent shop, and with my Work schedule I'd probably have to drive there and back in 1 day. I don't think that would be enough time to get let the head cool enough for them to put the plugs in correctly. Would it be damaging to install the colder plugs before the trip there? or after the trip home? I'd rather try and avoid being stuck in Downtown Little Rock, AR with no car for 3-4 hours while the engine cooled.

How far is Little Rock? There's a Harbor Freight there - they have a nice aluminum floor jack for about $60... If you can get 1, I can supply the tools, puller, tensioner tool...for the cost of USPS priorty. I believe Way lends with purchace = 1 stop shop - pulley - plugs.....

Little rock is about 150 Miles, First 2/3 is twisties, last part is Interstate. (can't say i mind that drive ) http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&sour....56781&t=h&z=9
That's a really generous offer, But another reason I'm making the trip instead of buying a floor jack and all, is because I haven't had the car checked out by a real MINI mechanic since i bought it. Since there are none locally. So i just want to have him look over anything, make sure nothing hidden is about to explode.
