Wow now that's a failed crank pulley!

Good call on getting the new axle CRoth. I just did one on a 325xi and even though we didn't need it it was nice to have the axle on hand if the stock CV's are toasted.

Thanks, I thought so. I think I'll take the stock one apart and at least put a good boot on it so it will be around for a spare. The new one is going straight on the car. The only reason I havent taken the one off of my car yet is because I don't want my car sitting on jack stands all week. LOL I'd rather it look somewhat functional even if it's not.

I checked out your gallery Jeremy, quite impressive. You don't miss out on many photo opps do you.. LOL Have you had your car dyno tuned? If so, what were your numbers?

Chad

I'd keep the stock axle as a spare if it can be re-lubed and re-booted too Chad.

I can't even remember what's in my gallery....haven't been there in a long time.

I've never dynoed my MINI. I keep missing RMW tunes in the Pacific North West!

This site doesn't have anything to do with this issue, however, Mr. Weiss & big letters DAD have been around a long time, you may find this site of interest. http://users.erols.com/srweiss/index.html Don't let the "accountants & consultants" deter looking through the table of contents.

I got my pulley and installed it today. All the noise is gone and all is smooth. I decided to get the ATI Super Dampner after all. Better safe than sorry.

I will receive my axle tomorrow, hopefully all will go well with the swap. I'm going to order a new inner boot for the old one so I can repair it and keep it for a spare. I'm going to wait until I take the boot off to see if there's any damage to the joint or the shaft first.

Glad to hear good news.. too much bad news.

You'll be happy with the ATI unit. If 1 had been available in late 06, I'd probably have 1 on my car.

I'm happy with it so far. I just finished installing my new axle. That wasn't fun. It would have been much easier with a lift and more light but I managed.

It's too rainy for a test drive but I'm sure it's fine. I'll take it out in the morning. My Mini is way too clean for a rainy test drive. LOL

If that had been a drivers side axel, its much easier.
We don't have any rain YET. It was 96f 86%h - rain is better - T & L later.
