Boost gauge install help

So I got my gauge wired up....lights on it work and everything. I ran the tubing and there are no kinks in the line at all. But it doesn't push the needle either direction. I hooked it up right under the fuel pressure regulator but theres nothing from the gauge!
I'm kind of frustrated....to say the least. I double checked all my connections, including the connection from the intake manifold to the fuel pressure regulator. What could be going wrong?
Could it just be that the gauge is shot? Need a new one? Any help would be awesome!!!

Try sucking and blowing on the line to see if the gauge is shot. You should be able to move the needle quite a bit when sucking.

when sucking on it it moves about 10 psi.....but blowing it doesn't move at all. And I removed the vac line when car is running and I can feel it pulling air but then when it's hooked up to the gauge there's nothing.

Well problem was that the line fell off the fuel pressure regulator when i was getting into a fight with my intercooler. little bugger was kind of tricky to get back on snug too!

Glad you fixed it.

When my boost gauge was connected in my old '02 MCS, the tech connected it to the fuel pressure regulator end of the hose. When I installed the VGS mod in my '06 MCS, I decided to tap into the end at the back of the intake manifold. This made adding the boost gauge much easier (which I did myself this time); just insert another "tee" fitting.

Yeah I did it right next to the fpr, and it's working so I'm happy to not make a change right now! lol
BTW....what is the VGS mod?

I agree with you. No need to change it if the job is already done. Just something to keep in mind in the future.

Here's the VGS mod thread: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ystem-vgs.html. It's in the "How To" section. The thread is really long, so have some patience reading through it.
