Cel w/ new 15% pulley+plugs

I just installed a new 15% Alta pulley w/ brisk plugs (colder) and I had already installed the alta cai a few months back. I ran the car for a few miles and everything ran smooth. I turn it on an 1hr later and a CEL came on, any ideas what it could be?

Thanx,
Art

Have you checked the code? If you do not have a code reader usually you can swing by your local auto supply store and they can read the code! How is the car running? PM me your contact info and I will see if I can help.

No I haven't gone to check it out with the local auto shop/store. But the car is running strong.

Thanx,

If your MINI appears to be running well at idle, light throttle, and WOT, then I would theorize you just received a lean condition code. This happened once about a week after I had my pulley and tune done. I reset the computer with the Peake tool. It has never come back.

Went to auto zone and the code I got was P0326-Knock sensor. Does it need to be replaced? Or what's the next step?

Thanx for the help,
Art

Did you clear the code? If so see if it comes back. That code has to do with the knock sensor range/performance. Might be a bad knock sensor.

I don't think the sensor's bad. It just means your engine received a hard knock condition and retarded the timing a little bit. Get it cleared and see if the code returns. If it does, either the sensor is bad, or you have something else going on.

I'm not familiar with the Brisk plugs, but I have seen several others buy them for their MINI. Find out of they compare to the NGK BKR7s. That's what I have in mine, and these are the recommended NGK plug after doing the pulley, CAI, exhaust, etc.

I looked around my engine bay and found one of the sensor plugs was disconnected. Its located in the front between the intercooler and the radiator it runs down towards the supercharger is that it? I plugged it back in and now I have to clear the code to see if that was it.

Thanx,

The knock sensor attatches directly to the block...sounds like a wire got loose from the install...clear the codes, reset, and double check everything. Should bebfine....and use good gas...even more important with a pulley ...

One more thing...you did use a tourqe wrench for the install for both the plugs and the pulley...so we can rule out the new pulley is slipping right?!

Yes we did torque it and I am using super unleaded from chevron(always)! It was that sensor that was unplugged, this morning I turn on the car and CEL was gone! Thanx for all your help and input!
