Dinan CAI question

Just installed my Dinan CAI.

I tried to use the supplied template to cut the req'd opening as best as I could. After finishing, I noticed there is a slight gap (bottom part of airbox near rubber moulding - right side of picture) that appears to be due to cutting too much out. Any idea if this gap is detrimental to performance? Wouldn't seem to difficult to seal it up.

I looked at a couple of install pics from other forum members and this seems like a consistent issue which leads me to believe its an inaccurate template.

It may not look perfect, but I'm sure it will work fine. I have one and it is very hard to cut it perfectly....mine id pretty good, but I still have a small gap too!! I think part of the issue is that the template is 2D and you place it on a 3D item...

Thanks ZippyNH. I'd like to think it's a problem with an imperfect template rather than a lack of skill on my part

I used the Template.. and my cut out was too small so in the end it turned into test fittling and cutting more out so everything seated perfectly

The gap on mine isn't huge but annoying to a picky guy like me. Here's a close-up (see arrows):
