Will the JCW exhaust work with my '04 Mini S?

I have an '04 MINI S and am looking at replacing the stock muffler with a JCW exhaust. I noticed that the muffler part item 18 10 0 395 483 for the muffler section says on the sticker "after 01/04>". The production date of my mini s was 6/09/03. Does this mean the JCW exhaust will not work with my car? What changes if any were made or should I disregard.

Thanx

I believe that the hangers changed somewhat on the 05 & 06 MINI's. Don't know exactly how much they did though.

Look it up here with your vin and see if there is any clarification for you. Maybe you can get the correct number and see how it differs.

Call someone who really knows these cars. Chad at Detroit Tuned should be able to answer your questions.

The newer exhaust is pinched so it will clear the brace used on convertible JCWs.

The older versions offered 1 for hardtops & 1 for convertibles instead of a "1 part fits all" unit.

I would probably order the older one if I were you to avoid the pinched section that I'm going to pay someone to remove on my car.
